Ken Jackson Receives Order of the Palmetto
Ken was awarded the Order of the Palmetto for "exceptional dedicated service to the Palmetto State" during the annual convention of the South Carolina Association of Realtors. The Order of the Palmetto is given by the Governor and is the State's highest civilian honor. "South Carolina is blessed to benefit from your tremendous work and willingness to serve. Thank you for upholding the highest ideals of servant leadership in everything you do" said Governor Mark Sanford.
Ken Jackson has been appointed 2008 Vice Chairman of the National Association of Realtors(1,200,000+ members) Smart Growth Advisory Group. This Advisory Group handles NAR's Smart Growth Programs which represent approximately $2 million in direct expenditures by NAR. Ken was asked to serve by 2009 NAR President Charles McMillan because of his expertise and experience in land use and quality of life issues. Ken was recently elected to represent South Carolina Realtors on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Realtors. He recently completed a 2 year term as Chairman of the Francis Marion University Board of Trustees and has served as Chairman of the Florence County-Municipal Planning Commission, President of the South Carolina Association of Realtors, the Florence Board of Realtors and as Co-Chairman of Governor Mark Sanford's Quality of Life Task Force.
Meet Ken
"Thank you for taking time to visit my website. My goal is to provide you with information about real estate in the Florence, SC area. I would like to assist you if you don't already have a Realtor and if you do, feel free to look around and use the site anyway. As you can see, I'm active in the community. I think it's important to give back and I believe my involvement in these areas helps me to be a better Realtor and a better person which is going to help you receive better service. I am proud to serve as a member and past Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Francis Marion University where I graduated with a degree in Business Administration. I'm involved in the Florence community where I have served as chairman of the Florence County-Municipal Planning Commission and am currently Secretary-Treasurer of the Florence County Economic Development Partnership and a member of the Board of Directors of the Florence Chamber of Commerce. I'm very active in the South Carolina Association of Realtors where I served as 2003 President and with the 1,200,000+ member National Association of Realtors where I serve on the Board of Directors and a number of other leadership positions. It takes a supportive and understanding family to be successful and I'm blessed to have a wonderful wife, Debbie and two beautiful children, Emily (15) and Tyler (9).
