Ken Jackson has been a top producing real estate broker since 1990 and was recently included in the 2016 REAL Trends America's Best Real Estate Agents. Ken's approach to real estate is that it is better to establish a lifetime relationship than to just complete a transaction. That approach has allowed Ken much success and many repeat and referred clients.
Ken has spent most of his real estate career with RE/MAX and he has been recognized by them with the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement Award and as member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame. Ken believes that being involved and knowledgeable about the community he serves allows him to be a better Realtor. He has been involved with numerous activities and organizations over the years and has been recognized for leadership in his profession, his community, his alma mater and his church.
Ken is a past President of the South Carolina Association of Realtors and was recognized as the 2013 South Carolina Realtor of the Year. He has been involved in the National Association of Realtors where he served on the Board of Directors and as Chairman of the NAR Smart Growth Advisory Board. He has also served as President of the Florence Board of Realtors and was named Realtor of the Year. Ken has also been recognized multiple times as Best Realtor in the Pee Dee by readers of the Morning News. He has been actively involved in local growth issues over the years and served for many years as Chairman of the Florence Municipal-County Planning Commission where he got a close-up view of the challenges faced by property owners and developers. He was able to gain valuable experience that he uses to assist clients in navigating property rights and land use issues. For his community leadership, Ken was recognized by the Florence Chamber of Commerce as the 2007 Business Person of the Year. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Florence County Economic Development Partnership and the Florence Chamber of Commerce.
Ken has long been a supporter of the re-development of Downtown Florence. He is currently involved as a developer in several Downtown projects including the 50,000 SF historic Kress Corner at the intersection of Dargan and Evans Streets.
He is a strong education advocate and has been very active with his alma mater, Francis Marion University, where he is a longtime member and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He has also served as President of the FMU Alumni Association and was named FMU's Distinguished Alumni of the Year as well as the FMU School of Business Alumni of the Year. Ken has also served on the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education which is the regulatory agency over higher education in South Carolina. In recognition of his leadership, Ken was presented the "Order of the Palmetto" which is South Carolina's highest civilian award.
As you can tell, Ken is a doer and a leader but more importantly he is a family man and a man of faith. Ken is most grateful for his supportive family which includes his wife Debbie, daughter Emily, a Clemson graduate and student at the USC School of Law and his son Tyler, an IB student at Wilson High School. Ken and his family are active members of First Presbyterian Church where Ken and Debbie are Elders.
